It will soon be compulsory for all schools to have a qualified Mental Health First Aider in schools. In collaboration with Interact, The New Essex Teaching School is pleased to offer a two day course that will award the qualification.

This two day course provides an in depth understanding of specific mental health issues and is delivered in four manageable chunks.

- What is mental health?

- Depression and anxiety

- Suicide and eating disorders

- Self harm and eating disorder

It focuses on the issues faced by young people today, such as cyber bullying and substance misuse and teaches how to promote protective factors and good parenting. Completing the two course qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.
